Meet Claudia Schmidt
Claudia is currently finishing her Master’s degree in counselling at Yorkville University and will be completing her clinical internship under the direct supervision of Jennifer Elder beginning in January 2025. As an intern, she will provide counselling services at a discounted rate of $90/hour. She has a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic approach but has also been trained in psychodrama, an experiential/humanistic modality.
She believes the struggles we face in our lives and relationships are often caused by interpersonal difficulties and that a deeper exploration of one’s own patterns of relating can help improve the quality of our relationships and lives and help relieve any somatic symptoms that may be present. Forming a trusting professional relationship with a therapist can help us work through issues like these and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. As your therapist, she will help you identify suitable goals, help you gain more self-awareness and learn about your relational patterns.
